Die Ashtirr erzählen, dass Gott Chorr sie aus den Knochen des göttlichen Mantikor Barrkash erschuf, nachdem dieser von der Göttin Machefra getötet wurde.
Seit ihrer Schöpfung, so der Glaube der Ashtirr, sind sie dazu bestimmt die Schlangenbrut der Machefra zur Strecke zu bringen und so Rache für den erschlagenen Barrkash zu üben.
